What is Mana For Cards?
A tool for Magic: The Gathering players that turns a real collection into concrete deckbuilding possibilities - what you can build right now, what a Commander deck needs, and what to buy next.
How do I import my collection?
Three ways: scan physical cards with your phone's camera, upload a CSV export from another collection tool, or search and add cards one at a time. Scanning supports both a fast, continuous mode and a manual single-photo capture.
Does the camera scanner actually work, or is it just a metaphor?
It's a real camera scanner, not just a metaphor. Point your phone at a physical card and it identifies it automatically. Cards with unusual fonts or heavy glare that don't scan cleanly can fall back to AI-assisted recognition on the Pro plan.
Does it support Commander (EDH)?
Yes. Commander discovery, recommendations, synergy analysis, and partner/background commander support are all part of the product.
Can I use it for formats other than Commander?
Yes - deck suggestions and collection analysis aren't limited to Commander, though Commander-specific features (like commander recommendations) are the most developed part of the product today.
What happens to my collection data?
Your collection is private to your account. The product is built multi-tenant with account-level data isolation, so other users never see your cards, decks, or drafts.
How much does it cost?
Free to start, no credit card required: import your collection, see which decks you can build, plan upgrades, and browse every precon and booster set, with up to 3 saved decks and 3 decks in progress. Pro is €7.99/month or €59.99/year and adds Build it for me, precon analysis, the booster guide, collection value by condition, unlimited decks, and AI-assisted scanning. What do I get with Pro?
Four tools on top of the free app. Build it for me makes a starting deck for any commander from your own cards, following your deck template. Precon analysis shows how much of each Commander precon you already own, which adds most to your collection, and adds a precon you bought in one tap. The booster guide shows what a pack is worth on average and which pack gives you the best chance at the cards you want. Value by condition values your collection by exact printing and condition, per deck, with a sell list of spare cards. Pro also removes the deck limits and adds AI-assisted scanning.
What does "X-Ray" mean?
X-Ray is a visual metaphor for looking deeper into the collection you've already imported - seeing what it's actually capable of, not just a flat list of cards.
Can I share a deck with someone else?
Yes - decks can be made public with a shareable link, or kept private. You control this per deck.
Do I need to own physical cards to use it?
No - you can search for and add cards manually without scanning anything physical, which is useful for planning a deck around cards you don't own yet.
What file formats can I import?
CSV exports from common collection-tracking tools are supported. If you're not sure your export will work, the app includes a sample CSV format for reference.
Is there a limit on how many decks I can build?
The Free plan supports up to 3 saved decks and 3 drafts in progress at a time. Pro removes both limits.
