How we work this out

A pack's average value is the sum, over every card that can appear in it, of the chance it shows up times its price. Pack contents and odds come from MTGJSON's booster data, and prices from Cardmarket (€) and TCGplayer ($). Most commons and uncommons are worth only a few cents and are hard to sell, so the cards worth €1+ column is a better guide to what you could get back.

An average hides a lot of luck: most packs are worth less than the average, and a few chase pulls make up the difference. If a pack costs more than its average value, you're paying for the fun of opening it.
